OutRegis! is a fluid group of Regis students, from freshmen to seniors, who enjoy comedy as a way to explore their own voices and physicality; as a means of developing and honing playfulness, courage, responsiveness and expressiveness–and as a collaborative, creative process through which they form connections with their community/audiences and friendships with one another that will last a lifetime. OutRegis! meets on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge (Student Center) to conduct company business, to take workshops from invited guests and to work on both skill-building and production. They also host a Friday evening “open playdate”– a game-filled, fun option for those who are less serious about performance, but who still want to participate in some improv activitites. The group also takes field trips to comedy clubs in the metro area, occasionally offering workshops for teens. They organize flash mob performances, guerilla performance on campus related to current events and social issues, and produce one sketch comedy show each year that reflects community issues and student experiences involving the communication of stigma, marginalization, difference and diversity.
