Angela Mercier’s 2012 Honors Thesis performance

Here, Angela explores images of women and drowning in The Lady of Shallott and throughout the history of English literature and poetry. Angela, Nick (as the gazing male, with his framing camera) and Jennie (as the feminist scholar who helps pull the Lady from her aesthetically-pleasing, watery grave) built the boat/coffin themselves, hauling all 175 lbs of it to rehearsals and across the quad for the performance.
